New to US and trying to figure out US/Canada tax

Post by ebeldman »

Hi there! Our family moved to the states in September. In the first half of 2022, my husband and I were both employed in Canada. Since moving to the states, my husband worked as a contractor for the 3 1/2 months of the end of the year. I’m trying to figure out how to move ahead with filing taxes for both Canada and the US for 2022. Any advice is appreciated!

There are many posts here covering first year taxes when leaving canada. Look for "Emigrant" "Departure tax"

It's a little too close to the tax deadline to be able to give mush personal attention.
