Investment Accounts in US

Post by lebrx002 »

Hi - I'm moving to Canada this year from the US. I will be rescinding my green card at that point. Do I need to transfer my investment accounts (holding ETFs) from a US broker to a Canadian one? My US broker has a dual license to operate in both countries.

Whether or not you rescind GC, your ability to keep a US non-retirement account is entirely up to your broker's license and willingness to keep you.

Yours would appear to be licensed, so it is between the two of you if you want to keep the account.
