Dual citizen Canadian RESP educational assistance payment report

Post by Madiaon2000 »

I have dual USA/Canadian citizenship. I live and study in Canada.
My parents have RESP(Registered Education Savings Plan) for me. As a beneficiary I have received C$ 12000 EAP ( educational assistance payment) last year for my university study.
Do I need to file 3520 and 3520-A? if not ( according to the new IRS ruling that an RESP no longer requires a 3520/3520A ?), do I need to report the RESP EAP? If yes, where to report the C$12000 RESP EAP in form 1040?
What other forms I need to file?
Thanks in advance!
