I will most likely have Canadian and US taxes done professionally for the first year back (or more?). However, I would likely attempt to prepare the returns myself (as well). This would allow me to better understand the options and make intelligent decisions moving forward. I currently use TurboTax for my US returns.
What software would you recommend for a US person residing in Canada (i.e., needs to file both US and Canadian returns)?

There is none that does BOTH of course, but Taxact works fine for US and I use ufile for canada.

For Canadian tax returns I've used GenuTax for many years. It's free.
