This is our main tax information forum which deals with topics concerning Canadians living and working in the U.S., U.S. citizens contemplating working in Canada, and all aspects of Canadian and U.S. income tax and related adminstrative issues.
Realized that I made a mistake in my exchange rate calculations on last year's US return. Though it does not affect my tax owing (which is still $0), it does affect my Form 1116 Carryover amounts and amounts reported on 8891s. Should I bother filing a 1040X, or just keep a record of the correct amounts?
You will need to amend it at some point to get the carryforward; might as well do so now.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
