I'm a Canadian citizen
This is a combination of tax and immigration questions:
A- If I'm on TD visa, am I allowed to work from US remotely for a Canadian company (that has no US presence)? Would this make any problems for my TD status or my wife's TN status?
B - If I'm allowed, and I spend more than 183 days in US this year, how will it affect my taxes vs. being less than 183 days in US this year? I would reside in Washington state.
C - If I go to US as visitor first and after 3-4 months I apply for TD status, would this 3-4 months be included in 'US time' or in 'Canada time' for the tax purposes? Also, would this visitor time be a problem for getting TD status?
D - Do you have anyone doing taxes in Vancouver, Washington? I think we will need an accountant who is very familiar with this type of situatuons.
Thank you!!
On TD visa, working remotely for US company - rules?

If you are allowed to do such work, it will be taxable in Canada because you are an employee there AND taxable in US because you live there.
Your US taxablility would start as soon as you go down and stay, whether as a tourist or as a TD.

After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
