This is my first year filing as a Resident of the U.S / Non-resident in Canada.
Canada issued me several T3 slips for various Canadian mutual funds.
I was wondering how to report these slips on the US 1040 tax return. Some searching on the web indicates that a t3 can be mapped to a 1099-div. I can see how that's done for the dividend amount(box 49), but what about other sources reported on the T3 such as Foreign Non-Business Income (box 25); Foreign Non-Business Income Tax Paid (box 34); Other Income (Box 26).
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
how to report T3 slip (mutual funds) on US 1040 tax return

Hi,
I'm wondering exactly the same thing, since it's my first year in the US too. I couldn't find the answer anywhere. I called a couple of CPAs here in the US, and none knew what to do. Same with some accountants in Canada. They say that normally, we receive NR4, but that only applies for the part of the year you were declared non-resident.
If you ever find the answer, I'd greatly appreciate your feedback ;-)
That's the only thing I'm missing to file!
Frank.
