RRSP Tax in California

Post by jewel »

Hello,
I am a Canadian citizen living in California for 10 years (GC) where income is taxable on the year it occurs.

My RRSP generates different kinds or income:
- ETFs dividends distributed in cash
- Mutual funds dividends distributed in shares
- Capital gains from purchasing and selling ETFs
- Capital losses from purchasing and selling ETFs
- interests

I would like to verify if this means also dividends on mutual funds or ETF dividends that are distributed as shares.

Also, I would like to know how to account for capital gains and losses when disposing of ETFs within the plan (new assett allocation needed).

Finally, can I claim a deduction on this tax if I live in a different state when withdrawing the RRSP?
