Canadian setting up company in USA

My friend asked the question below I hope someone in this forum can help,
He is canadian citizen and resident and intend to know:
1. Can he set up an import/export company in USA (he as owner still in Canada but hire couple of employees)? He does not even have SSN in USA - can he get one for the purpose of the setting up business

2. How does his income tax work in both countries if he take the earning from his USA Inc. to Canada as income?

3. How does the corporate tax works in Canada if the company is incorporated in USA only?
