Is car donation tax deductible in Ontario?

I am considering donating my car, market value approx. $1,200. To save hassle I am thinking about donating it. Is this tax deductible in Ontario? I also file in US, is this deductible in US? Note the car still runs and would not be sent to recycling, but to a needy charity that can use it, so it has real value, not junk.

It is on your uS return, subject to normal conditions. Since you are reporting Cdn income on your 1040, the gift, though made in Canada, is deductible on schedule A.

As to whtherit is decductible in canada, check the CRA website.
