1099-G unemployment benefits reported to CCRA

Post by dorins »

Where do 1099-G unemployment amounts received get reported to CCRA?
Do they go in the "other foreign income" of the foreign income slip?
Or do they get reported as unemployment benefits on T4E (converted at the annual exchange rate)?

Thank you

I think your question is how to get this amount into the software.

Well, you can decide how to do this yourself, but the 2 things you want to ensure is that (a) it gets included in your income, and (B) that it is treated as foreign income when you gop to calculate your foreign tax credit.

I would be tempted to fill a fake T4E, and then use the foreign employment category, using the 'previously reported on T4' to adjust this.

But that is all I'm going to say about it.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
