Earnings in Canada

Post by DH »

Can a US citizen residing in Canada earn income from a Canadian employer in US dollars or a combination of US/Canadian? How would that effect withholding and taxes?

The currency one is paid in has absolutely no bearing on taxation, withholding, or anything else.

You are an employee, subject to witholding, as is your Cdn employer suject to remitting withholding, at the rate prescribed by the government.
