Form 2555

Post by roger1129 »

Hey yall, question for you.

Catching up on US returns.

Situation is as follows; Born in the US, and then moved to Canada when one years old. Then bounced between Hong Kong and Canada for the last 30 years. For the 2555, the date Bona Fide residence began, should I put the date when was one years old?. Or when I most recently moved back from Hong Kong to Canada where am currently residing.

Doesn';t really matter, as long as it is before the beginning of the first return you are catching up on, I guess.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
