NOn-resident withheld

Post by jayroh »

Now that non-resident tax is no longer withheld, will US residents with Canadian bank accounts have to file a Canadian tax return to report this income to Canada. I also have rental income and pension income from Canada.

It's not that no NR tax is withheld. It is that the NR rate is now 0%.

No reporting required. You do have to report your rental income, of course; in fact it should be having NR tax withheld every month.

Your pension is flat taxed.
