As a US resident, you need to report world income. Since the company is in canada you pay Cdn rtax as well.

You don't net the income after tax. You report ALL income and get credit for tax.

Wages and dividends are not taxed the same for non-residents of canada.

Wages and dividends are not taxed the same for US residents.

But they are both taxed by both entities
