Canadian, working in Canada, for US company

Just an over reaction to the Microsoft thing a few years ago. May also want to limit expenses from managers that will just rubberstamp contract renewals too.

You're absolutely right. American companies used to train and then have their employees sign an exclusive contract.

You're absolutely right, especially if it's an American national. It's really rare or impossible because I lived there for two years.
