relocated back to Canada Jan 2004 - tax return Q

Post by asktax »

Hi,

I was working in US on TN for the past few years, but relocated back to Canada at end of Jan 2004. I have quesions about my US tax return for 2004

1) I earned one month of income in 2004 in US (Jan 2004), do i need to file US tax for year 2004?

2) if yes, what form should I use? (is it 1040NR)?

3) i started to work in Canada from Feb 2004, so if I need to file US tax for 2004, do I only report the income I earned in US in Jan 2004?

4) final question, if I need to file 1040NR, can Taxcut or TurboTax software do that?

Thanks a lot!
Ben
