TN work Visa & Social Security benefits

Post by glennd13 »

I am a Canadian Citizen working in the US on a TN Visa. I am assuming that during the time I am in the US and not paying into the Canadian pension plan, I will be penalized for my time in the US come retirement time. As Canadians, for the time we are in the US and paying into Social Security, are we eligible to get SS for the amount of time we contributed???

as long as you work parts of 2 years in US you will collect *some* SS when you retire
