Foreign Tax Credit in 06 CDN tax report

Post by slamarre »

Hi,

I did some research on this forum and i mostly found what i was looking for but i need to make sure that i have a clear picture.

All of 2006, i had only a US income. I was resident of Quebec until March 1st 2006.

I know that i will have to calculate only 2/12 of the standard deduction on the CDN tax report but i need to know how exactly to fill out the foreign/US tax credit in the CDN tax report.

Since i have to fill out the form T2209 calculation sheet, what would be the number/box from my US pay slip to put:

Foreign non-business income (a)
Net foreign non-business income (b)
Divided by: net income (c)
Basic federal tax (d)

What is the difference between a and b?

What is net income in c?

Do i have to sum up the Federal/State tax, SS and Medicare tax for d?
