Report of Foreign and Financial Accounts

Post by theautomatik »

Hi all,

I have just been told of this form (TD F 90.22.1). Apparently, if you are a U.S. citizen who has a Canadian bank account which had a value of more than $10K USD at any point in 2004, you must file it with the IRS. You do not file it with your IRS tax returns.

Is this true? I am a U.S. citizen who has a joint account in Canada with my Canadian husband.

Sorry if this topic has been posted already. If so, I would appreciate it if someone could direct me to the thread.

Thanks,

Leslie H.

Take a look at this site. Yes, this is correct information. I file this form annually.

You can also check out my website on US/Canada issues at:

Hope this helps!
