Bankruptcy Question.

Hi. I am Canadian and planning to get married to my US fiance some time later this year. Our intention is to then apply for a K3 visa. I need some advice.

I live in Canada but I do own property in the US where my fiance lives currently. If I was forced to declare bankruptcy in Canada, is it better to do that before I get married to my US fiance? I obviously dont want to put her at any risk and more importantly also risk the loss of my property in the US where I would plan to live after the K3 is approved. My property in the US is currently highly leveraged. I would appreciate any comments/advice for our situation.
