form 3520

Post by linesydney »

The facts are as follows: US citizen who is a resident of Canada. The taxpayer has three investments (non-RRSP)in Canadian mutual funds with a major Canadian bank. One investment is a Canadian money market fund which has the legal status of a mutual fund trust. The second is an income fund which distributes interest, dividends and capital gains and which has the legal status of a mutual fund trust. The third is an equity mutual fund which has the legal status of a mutual fund corporation.
Does Form 3520 have to be filed for the mutual fund trusts?
Does Form 8621 have to be filed for the mutual fund corporation?
