I am a Canadian citizen/resident. My US citizen/resident wife of three years will be immigrating to Canada later in 2020. I am filing my 2019 tax return, and spouse's information is requested, including "net income" -- the amount from line 236 if she were to file a tax return.
My questions:
1) Does she need to file a Canadian tax return? (I assume not)
2) Do I compute her "net income" by filling out a tax return using her US income numbers, (in CDN$, of course)?
3) If so, which tax return (Non-resident?)
Thanks for any input.

1. No.
2. You can simply use her adjusted gross income from her 1040 return and convert. That is good enough for this purpose. It is merely to eliminate eligibility for some subsidies (GST,CCTB, etc).
