Tax Return for Canadain Citizen on TN

Post by babu670 »

Hi,
What I understood about non-resident return is that I've to declare myself of non-resident to CRA. Here is my case. Working in the USA from May'2005 till now. Also has some income in Canada till 2005. Still didn't file any non-resident application to CRA. If I claim that, that don't I have to declare any income from USA? What's the downside of that? I only know that I can't have property/bank account in Canada or so. Can't eligible for immigration sponsoring or so? Also, TN requires strong ties with Canada, Does non-resident status have anything to do with TN? However, I know that INS doesn't go that detail in the border.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
