W-8BEN-E vs W-8ECI

Post by RKMSND007 »

Hi All,

I am a Canadian Citizen and a IT Consultant.

Starting a Corp-to-Corp (My Canadian Company with a US Company) TN contract project from November 2018. The American company will directly wire my expenses & rate to my Canada bank account.

Which form do I fill up..W-8BEN or W-BECI ? A bit confused. When is either of the forms applicable ?

Regards,

Since the US entity is paying the Cdn entity, and not you as an individual, you need to file a W-8BEN-E, to claim treaty exemptions.
nelsona non grata. Non pro. Please Search previous posts, no situation is unique as you might think. Happy Browsing :D
