Living in Canada working remotely for US company

Post by sjantzi »

I've been living in Canada and crossing the border everyday to work for this company for about 17 years as an employee (W2). Their Canadian arm recently opened an office on Canadian side (Windsor) and I've taken one of the offices there and have been working remotely. Would this have any effect on how I can be paid? Is continued W2 ok?

You should be now on the Cdn payroll, with Cdn benefits, and EI and CPP.
