Does an RRSP have to be reported on a TD F 90-22.1

Post by rsargant »

Hi,

I've been reading how U.S residents are required to file TD F 90-22.1 to disclose foreign accounts. Do RRSP's need to be reported this way as well, or is filing 8891 sufficient.

If you have more than US$10K in foreign bank and investment accounts, all must be reported, including RRSPs.

The 8891 for must be used for each RRSP, regardless of whether you elect to defer income.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
