Hello,
I have been preparing our Canadian tax returns for a while. My husband and I are residents of US and Canada (husband worked in the US, i lived in Canada while finishing some school). We did not break residency in 2016 due to this fact. I am wondering how I can go about preparing our tax returns for 2016. My husband's company paid for PWC to prepare our 2015 tax returns as residents of US (CA) and Canada but they charge $3000!!
Can i have a US CPA prepare my tax returns (or even prepare them myself with software) and carry over any applicable tax credits to my Canadian tax returns? Is it that simple?
We have broken residency in 2017, so will have another headache to deal with next year :S
Thanks in advance!
