filing 8854 late through streamlined offshore process

Post by mmoore1 »

Long term commuter green card holder (c2) living in Canada. Relinquished green card using i-407 in 2009 but never filed 8854. Have been collecting pension and filing as resident in US ever since (incorrectly, I just learned). I have never submitted FBARs. I just learned I should have been submitting FBARs and should have submitted an 8854 with 2009 taxes, then switching to foreign person with my US pension provider immediately. I want to become compliant. Can I use the streamlined offshore process to do this without fear?
