thanks for that tip. We were all using "Custom House" for years, but they were bought by Western UNion and there rates became laughable.

I'd also be curious about MTFX.ca
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best

Actually I am not concerned about the little capital gain anymore. What I am concerned is, my house will not be quickly sold or rented in April. It can take months. If I keep my family here for sometime then they can try to sell or rent it. But if they stay in canada after getting the TN dependent status in April and I visit them frequently for time being, is it making me resident of canada and thus paying tax to cra for my US income?

What if my family just leave the house locked and move to usa if we can not rent or sell it?

What about OHIP (health) coverage during this period for me and my family?

I already expalined about OHIP for you; same applies for your family if the move. if you or your family want to extend OHIP, you need to aske them.
But OHIP is of little value in US, they should be put under your work health insurance.
