You should file in order to re-establish residency for other future purposes, like OAS, TFSA contribution room, etc.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best

... and it's always good to note an official arrival date on your return that is linked to an actual event (like crossing the border with your stuff, taking possession of house/apartment, etc).
