C'mon.

I said -- and meant -- 2008. After 2008 is 2009. 2009 (ie. now) is when the new rules on RRSP deductibility of contributions buy US taxpayers take effect. So contributions made in 2008 and before to an employer plan are not treated the same as those made after 2008.

As to your taxation when you retire, if you are in canada, you will still be reporting all your income on a 1040. Your kids will not be a deduction anymore, and there is no guarantee that your taxrate in US will be less than canada.

I think we'll just leave this issue for now.
