How are you making the SS non-taxable? Are you simply putting the taxable portion as zero? This should work.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best

I take it back! I am new to TaxAct and don't know if I could now reproduce how I got it to give me that message saying I couldn't override the taxable portion to zero. I just tried again, and now I see a checkbox for "US citizen living abroad and benefits are exempt from U.S. tax due to a treaty". Perfect. I'll push on with TaxAct.
