Filed a 1040NR in 2016, is it worth amending to a 1040 now?

You also get the standard deduction which you don't get on 1040NR. Or you get to use Cdn tax paid as a deduction if you itemize.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best

I definitely am in a sour spot. Since I was in Canada 3/4 of the year I had a good amount of Canadian income, and I received a decent sign up bonus in the 1/4 year I was in US which pushed me on a higher US bracket as well.

All said and done it’s not a bad problem to have, I am just happy I tried all the methods and understood why 1040NR was the more beneficial route.
