Deduction of attorney fees

Post by emirica »

Is it possible to deduct the attorney fees for an employment-based permanent residency on Schedule A of 1040?

Yes. Miscellaneous employment related expense.

Won't give you much of course, since it is subject to 25% minimum.

Try to pay everyting combined one year.

This would cover all fees related to your process (photos, filing fees, etc).

You would include the $4000 in misc expenses, and the nreduce those by 2% of AGI, like the instructions explain.
