Hello,
First time poster! I am a Canadian citizen with a green card to work in the US. I have been in the US for 9 years. I am married to a US citizen, and we are contemplating moving back to Canada. I understand that I can bring back unlimited items tax free, but that the value of each item has to be less than $10,000 (CDN$).
I own a car, as does my wife. It is my understanding that as a new immigrant to Canada she can immport anything into Canada, even items (such as cars) that exceed the $10,000 (CDN$) tab. Can I transfer the ownership of my car to her, and have her import it into Canada? Or does she have to own something for a certain time period before this is allowed?
Thanks in advance!

The csba documents all point to the RIV info.
Good point about having to EXPORT any car from US before importing into Canada, though. This is a must.

After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
