Simple tax residency question

Post by Jonhello »

If I officially move to Canada in May, do I pay CAD taxes from May going forward or on the whole year since I will have lived in Canada for more than 6 months out of the year?

You will report world income from the day you arrive in Canada. That is why you put an arrival date on page 1. It has nothing to do with number of days.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
