US TN VISA - Reporting Canada RRSP, TFSA, interest and T2 ..

Post by vansree »

Hi,
For year 2016, I filed extension in USA and worked in California US. Wife (Housewife) and Daughter (5 year old) stayed in US and has ITIN numbers. All three are US Tax Residents for year 2016.

We have
- Two W2s (Two companies)
- Canadian Interests
- USA interests, stocks loss
- Canadian RRSP, TFSA
- Canadian BC Incorporation, kept active and losses reported to CRA. No income, but old loss. Active company. Canadian accountant took care of it. He does not know US accounting.
- Canadian Personal Capital gain loss (due to some business did in the past).

What forms should I have to submit for all the above ? FINBAR, Fincen114/116 ... I am planning to use TurboTax. Is it OK? Should I use Accountant?

Please advice and Thanks in advance.

Did you file a departure return for Canada?
