How is a GIC classified on the FinCen form?

How is a GIC classified on the FinCen form?

Just wondering if a GIC should be reported as being of type bank or type other on the Fincen form? (My GIC was with HSBC bank).

If the GIC isn't held in an investment account, then just pick bank
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
