Do I need to file in Canada?

Post by mrkwkkrn »

Hi

I am a canadian citizen, and a PR of the US since Feb 2014.

I have filed 2 canadian returns since moving to the US (2013 and 2014 tax years).

For 2015, I have no Canadian income, but I do have one small bank account still open (around $5000).

Do I need to file in Canada for 2015?

Thanks,
Mark

You should have filed a departure return for 2014, and then you would be done with Canada until you returned. Correct you 2014 return.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
