insurance (disability) pay on/after TN

Post by jixca »

As per title, other than one's own personal needs, is it worth to pay for long term disability insurance while being on TN in US?

Assuming that is, if one goes without work due to disability and subsequently leaves US, will LTD be affected by non-residency in US or it doesn't matter?

If your employer does not offer this to you automatically for free, I wouldn't bother, but you may feel otherwise.
Be aware, that Most LTD policies would require constant supervision from employer-chosen medical staff. Leaving US would likely violate the policy.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
