1040NR

I will ask this question a different way.

I relinquished my US citizenship in December of 2012...

I have to fill out a 1040 and 1040NR.

I understand that I attach my 8891 and 8938 forms to the 1040, but for the 1040NR do I also have to attach the same forms?

If so are they just duplicates of the ones attached to the 1040?

I am assuming so due to the fact that the 8891 want the year end balance of the RRSP and the 8938 s looking for maxium account balances.

There is a question in there somewhere...

I will ask it again;

Do I attach one copy of 8938 and 8891 to the 1040/1040NR package, or is it a requirement to attach an additional copy to the 1040NR?

Wow. If you were filing only a 1040NR, you would not attach either of these documents, so.....

Ok....thanks Nelsona.

I just thought I read somewhere on the IRS site that individuals that filed 1040NRs still have to include 8938s and 8891s.

So my question is i suppose answered.
