TN/TD status, filing taxes in Canada/US

Post by ivg »

Hi all,
I am sorry for asking the similar question, but could not find a match in other posts.
We are Canadians, living currently in California on TN/TD status.
I got TN status and job in USA on July 25, 2012. Since that time I visited Canada just twice for 10 days. But my wife and son were with me in USA just several days in 2012 and joined me only when we sold our house on Feb 27, 2013.
We filed alredy 1040-NR for 2012.
I am trying to file our Canadian taxes and trying to find the best way to do it, keeping in mind 2013 as well. What should be our residency for both countries?
What forms should we fill in?
Thank you very much,
-- Ivan

Look harder, I've covered this 100's of times.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
