converting canadian (foreign) income to u.s. values

Post by harryt »

Form 2555-EZ indicates that for Line 17 "Enter the total foreign earned income you earned and received in 2012. Report the amount in U.S. dollars using the exchange rats in effect when you actually received the income". I get paid biweekly - does this mean I have to find and apply the conversion rate for each pay period in 2012?

no, you apply an average rate.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
