CRA Assessnent for US taxes

Post by Taxpoor »

Is there a requirement to send in a copy of your CRA tax assessment with your yearly 1040?

I have in the past (at the suggestion of Accountants) but, since this is my last tax filing in the United States (as I have relinquished my citizenshp), I am anxious to get this filing out of the way.

IRS only asks -- when filing a paper return -- that you include any W-2, or 1099-R if tax was withheld. To sens anything else is a waste.

And for your accountant to suggest that you do so, is simply his attempt to justify his inflated cost with bogus 'insider information'.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
