About form 8891

Post by masiddiqui »

I have two questions:

I need to write "A statement requesting an extension of time to make an election to defer income tax" on RRSP for which form 8891 was not filled.

Question 1: Does anyone have a sample letter for the same or any guideline on what to write in this "statement requesting an extension of time to make an election to defer income tax"?

Question 2: Referring the form 8891, Can some body tell me the difference between Beneficiary and Annuitant. Which one need to be selected. To me both of them are same.

Who told you you need to file such a statement: That is not as simple anymore.

We have answered all questions on 8891 in the past. EVERYONE is a beneficiary.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
