Hi everyone.
I search for similar topics but nothing comes, so if anyone can answer my question I’ll appreciate.
I have Canadian residency, work for Canadian company and my contract is signed in Canada, and I’m commuting to Iraq on rotational bases-35/35 on and off.
Can I qualify for OETC? The low says that working abroad should be 6 consecutive months, but I heard that some people are claiming OETC.
OETC Canada

To get OETC, you only need to be working for the company continuously for 6 months, with 90% of your work done abroad. You are allowed to be in Canada during this time, as long as you do not work much (which would be your case).
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
Your company has to prepare a part of the form, and that is about it. OETC is pretty simple. You should think about fixing your old return if you qualified. Read the line in the CRA guide.
