TN on 1099

Post by TNholder »

I am emloyed by a private company and am paid through 1099 form. As a TN holder I cannot be self-employed, and I am not since I do work for this company using their space, their tools, and under their regulations. My understanding is that 1099 is used to pay self-employed and independent contractors. Is my situation legally compromised?
Thank you

You are fine.

You cannot self-SPONSOR your own TN. You are sponsored by the private company. The manner in which you are paid does not change that.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
