emigrate tax return where to mail?

Post by arthur198 »

Hi everyone,

I have a stupid question.

I mail the tax trturn to the province that I reside to is that correct?

so I emigrate in 2007 and live in BC before, so I mail my departure tax reutn to BC right?

Thanks very much

It doesn't really matter, as the return will be handled the same regardless of where it is sent.

Besides, it is only coincidental that BC has a mail-in center. there are only 6 or 7 in canada, not one for every province.

If you are doing anything that is 'non-residential' in nature (ie. 216 or 217 or some other treaty aspect), send it to Ottawa.
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best
