I love to see people handling their taxes in january!
After 20 years, I am severely cutting back on responses. Do not ask specifically for my help. There are a few others on this board that can answer most questions. All the best

One more short question: do I need to file 8833 with the 1040? Any specific formulation one should use? I have tried to search the forum for this, but did not find the answer easily. Thank you.

Hello

I was on TN Visa and I filed a joint return 1040NR and ITIN for my spouse at http://www.visataxes.com

I had to report worldwide income, and i believe Canadians can claim dependents on 1040NR based on a tax treaty.

Just check your residency status also like dual status, resident, Non resident and if you are J1 research, i believe you have a 2-3 year tax exemption.
